“Never, never give up”

The expression of “‘Never, never give up’ means to keep trying and never stop working towards your goals.” I strongly agree with this because i know that you learn more from a failure than a success. If you keep trying even if it isn’t working you’ll get there, but if you stop and give up you’ve just been running in place this whole time. I believe that if you want to succeed you can never give up and you need to fail.

In the story I read called A Dream Called Home, (chapters 1 & 2) written by Reyna Grande, you learn about how her life fell apart and how she felt in the beginning of college. She goes through so much but she never gave up on her dream of going to college. Even when she had no support from her parents and her dad had given up on her, she kept going.

Something that stood out to me from the story is when Reyna said “My Childhood was defined by the fear that my parents might forget me…. Worst of all was the fear that I might never have a home and a real family again. The only thing that sustained me through the dark times was my dream of one day having my parents back in my life” (page 12). You can see part of how bad her life was but she kept going for her parents. She had a dream that motivated her to be the best she could be. She wanted to be the first in her family to finish college, just to make her dad proud and happy.

I also agree with the statement “‘Never, never give up’ means to keep trying and never stop working towards your goals” because of what it means personally. I was taught never give up on something just because it gets hard. I was also taught that failure is just feedback. As Babe Ruth said “You cant just beat the person who never gives up.”
